OARA presents the Halton Health and Stroke Foundation with $10000 donation

Burlington Ontario–February 11 2011–The Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA) will present the Halton Health & Stroke Foundation with a $10000 donation tomorrow at the organization’s Pastafest 2011 event.

Parafest will be held at Burlington Golf and Country Club. OARA’s donation will be in support of life saving research and program enhancement for the children in the Halton community.

Hundreds of Heart and Stroke Foundation supporters will gather at the annual event to feast on pasta bid on exclusive items in a silent auction and enjoy an evening of great entertainment. Proceeds from the event which raised $9000 in 2009 and $84000 since inception will go toward funding research into heart disease one of the leading causes of death for Canadians.

One in three deaths in Canada can be attributed to heart disease and stroke. This event helps put precious dollars into the hands of researchers to help combat the disease.

“These gifts are vital for research health promotion education and advocacy” said Trina Carey Halton area manager for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. “These generous donations enable the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario to continue to lead the way in protecting the health of millions of Canadians at risk of heart disease.”

OARA will also be a sponsor for the organization’s Skate for the Heart event being held at the Bronte Creek Park skating rink on February 10 at 6:00pm. If you’re in the area consider paying a visit.

Stay tuned for photos from both events!
