OARA, Assured show support for Heart & Stroke Foundation at Big Bike event

Burlington, Ontario – June 27, 2011 — Twenty-nine riding a bus-shaped bike isn’t something you see on the roads everyday but that exactly what motorists and pedestrians saw in Burlington, ON. On June 16, the Heart and Stroke Foundation held its Big Bike event in Burlington.

Of course, OARA has a history of supporting the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Brigitte Pesant, director of business development for OARA, was there to volunteer.

As well, Burlington’s Assured Parkway Collision had a team in the event and completed the course in 10 minutes and 38 seconds, which is very impressive considering it takes 20 minutes on average. More importantly, Assured raised $ 1,800 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Heart and Stroke Big Bike is an annual event held by the foundation. They have eight of these 29-person bikes that travel across the country from March to August. Each location along the way has a fundraising target of $5,000.
