AARDA donates $2,000 to STARS Foundation

Calgary, Alberta — August 2, 2011 — Ian Hope, executive director of the Alberta Automotive Recyclers and Dismantlers Association, presented a cheque for $2,000 to Jane Styles of the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS) Foundation.  The cheque is from AARDA and is part of the funds that were raised through Ford and General Motors' vehicle end-of-life programs. Vehicles traded in under these programs in Alberta are sold to association members and part of the price paid for each vehicle comes to AARDA for allocation to eligible charities.

STARS can use these funds to help with projects and priorities such as refurbishing a helicopter recently acquired from the U.S. to make it ready for important life-saving missions in Alberta.
