Hot Topic: OARA roundtable on green recycled parts; event guest list filling up

Toronto, Ontario — The Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA) will host a roundtable discussion on the use of green recycled parts, based on findings from its study alongside U.K.-based firm Oakdene Hollins.

The invitation-only discussion on the benefits, costs, obstacles and opportunities to increase the use of green recycled parts in Ontario will take place Thursday, March 21 at the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The event will begin with opening remarks from Steve Fletcher, executive director of OARA, who will provide a summary of OARA’s study with U.K. firm Oakdene, The Environmental Benefits of Green Recycled Parts in Ontario.

Ryan Mandell, director of claims performance for Mitchell International, will follow Fletcher, delivering a summary of collision repair trend data. Next up will be Santo Segreti, director of national supply chain for Intact Insurance, who will give perspectives from his company.

A coffee break will precede the open discussion, moderated by Steve Fletcher.

The guest list for the roundtable thus far includes several representatives from the collision, insurance and, of course, recycling sectors, in addition to many other automotive industry stakeholders.

The roundtable is sponsored by Intact Insurance, IAA, Car-Part.com, and the Progi Group.

Following the roundtable, OARA is thrilled to host its first annual Recycler Part-Y, where attendees will gather for cocktails and appetizers and continue discussions from the roundtable.

OARA’s annual Trade Show and Convention will take place following the roundtable, on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23.
