Atlantic recyclers gear up for annual meeting

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island — October 1, 2014 — The Automotive Recyclers Association of Atlantic Canada (ARAAC) will hold its 2014 Annual Meeting at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Centre in Truro, Nova Scotia. The meeting is set for October 18, 2014.

The day gets underway at 8 a.m. with breakfast, followed by the annual member meeting and elections. Please note that this part of the meeting is only open to Direct Members of ARAAC. Training and presentations follow the meeting and elections, starting with an update on Atlantic scrap markets, presented by Derek Ross. Following Ross will be a presentation on CBC Dashboard, software designed to allow recyclers to check the vitals of their company, diagnose any problems, and plot their own solutions.

Robert Counts takes the stage after lunch for a session on Managing the 3 P’s “People, Processes and Perception”. As Counts puts it, in a business climate where part prices are posted on the Internet, companies need additional ways to create noticeable difference between themselves and their competitors, and staff should be guided by processes that produce a positive perception about your business.

Counts will also present Family in the Family Business¨, a look at the many complications, obstacles, and challenges that may arise when trying to navigate towards success in both your family and your business.

A yard tour of Blenkhorn’s Auto Recyclers, a reception, and BBQ will take place after the last presentation.

ARAAC would like to thank Impact Auto Auctions and Rosco Crushing & Recycling for their sponsorship of the meeting.
