Edmonton, Alberta – July 27, 2017 — The Alberta Automotive Recyclers and Dismantlers Association (AARDA) will host its annual convention in Edmonton this fall.

Taking place at the Fantasy Land Hotel at the West Edmonton Mall on September 23 and 24, this year’s theme will focus on ‘Thriving Despite a Tough Economy’ – a direct reference to the ongoing recession facing Alberta and its residents.

In announcing the conference earlier this summer, AARDA Executive Director Ian Hope said the association had been working long and hard to come up with engaging ideas for the two-day symposium.

“Once again the AARDA has developed plans to bring its direct and associate members, as well as industry stakeholders, yet another unique conference experience,” Hope said in a statement. “We have planned a conference that will provide you an opportunity to network and share new, innovative and implementable ideas at a stimulating and accessible location – a place where you can bring your team for a weekend of focused development, relaxation and fun.”

Headlining the conference is keynote presenter Ron Sturgeon, a US-based consultant and motivational speaker that specializes in the automotive recycling industry.

“Ron’s experience in establishing and managing his own companies makes him a perfect ally for the AARDA member businesses. Over the years, Ron has learned practical ways to systematically build successful business and achieve greater efficiency, productivity and profit,” Hope said.

AARDA is a group made up of more than 50 Alberta businesses. The association is committed to promoting environmentally responsible auto recycling practices and maintaining awareness of industry trends, issues and opportunities to achieve more positive outcomes.
