Henry (Hank) James Nissen of Hank’s Auto Wreckers passed away on Thursday at the age of 81. In 1965 Hank and his wife Shirley founded Hank’s Auto Wreckers in St Clements Ontario and nurtured it into a very successful family business. He stayed there until health issues forced him to retire in 2007.
Hank was a family man who loved his work hunting motorcycles and hockey particularly the Waterloo Siskens.
He was always a brave and honourable man volunteering in his community as a firefighter for 25 years.
Hank will be dearly missed by his wife of 54 years Shirley (nee Wagner) and his children Michael (Laurie) and Shelley Boehm (Patrick). Hank will be remembered by his grandchildren; Jennifer Nelson (Todd) Derek and Trevor Nissen Dustin and Devon Boehm; his brother Peter Nissen (Sheila) and brother-in-law George Cebula.
Hank will also be fondly remembered by his countless customers in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and beyond for the decades of wonderful service and friendship.
A memorial service will be held in Kitchener on May 4 2011. Hank’s family ask that expressions of sympathy donations be to the C.N.I.B or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
