Didsbury, Alberta — On Sept. 23, the Didsbury, Alta. Train Station hosted a flurry of local businesses to announce this year’s nominees for the Didsbury and District Chamber of Commerce business awards. Representing the auto industry was Waymore Service and Auto Recyclers, which earned a nomination for the Business of the Year award.
Waymore Service and Auto Recyclers was the only automotive business to be honoured with a nomination. Based in Didsbury, Alta., the facility employs local licenced mechanics and offers vehicle recycling, towing, boosting, parts and a range of other services.
The business is a local staple, consistently receiving five-star reviews from satisfied customers that praise Waymore’s “excellent and honest service” and “plain good advice.” The 5,000-strong town of Didsbury relies on Waymore for its towing and recycled parts needs.
The Didsbury and District Chamber of Commerce received 81 nominations from the community. In total, 33 businesses were recognized in eight different categories.
“I came up with the program in the last year or two,” said Laurie Klassen, vice president of the chamber. “We’ve been working really hard to promote it. We want it to be what the community believes to be the best customer service, the best non-profit, all of that. We want it to come from our customers.”
