Sparking Safety: Carcone’s Auto Recycling participates in EV training to prepare for the future in the industry

Aurora, Ontario – Michael Carcone and the staff of Carcone’s Auto Recycling recently participated in a three-day electric vehicle training workshop run by Greg Aguilera and his team from International Automotive Consulting (IAC).

Twelve members from Carcone’s Auto Recycling participated in the event, including all dismantlers, the inventory staff, members of the sales team and the business’s buyer.

The event consisted of an equal division of class training and hands-on learning.

“We were shown how to bench test as well as test prior to the removal of components that held a charge,” noted Michael Carcone, owner of Carcone’s Auto Recycling.

“We were also shown how to properly use the tools needed in EV dismantling,” Carcone continued. “One of the highlights for me was watching my team get engaged in the training.”

“The importance of events like these is learning not only practical aspects but also the safety aspects of working on EVs. Other steps include learning from your peers, or more importantly, going to industry events and learning from the sessions at OARA.”

“Finally,” Carcone concluded, “I think that readers should consider the importance of staying up-to-date in your knowledge. You don’t know how much you don’t know until you have taken this course.”
