Toronto, Ontario –May 25, 2011– The CCIF and OARA are holding a joint automotive recycling summit on June 16 in Toronto.
What’s happening?
A breakfast summit meeting on recycled parts issues. The event will include presentations, break-out groups, summary and next steps. This is intended to be a collaborative solutions-based forum that will benefit all.
Who is behind this and what is the purpose?
With the aim of reducing costs and making life easier for collision repairers, CCIF and OARA (Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association) are teaming up to co-host this Breakfast Summit. The purpose is to define the issues that matter to all parties concerning the use of recycled parts in collision repair and to establish an action plan for addressing them.
Who is it for?
This meeting is open to all those with an interest in the collision repair industry and all are welcome. However, the meeting will be of particular importance for collision repairers, recyclers and insurers.
Why now?
At a recent OARA conference, it became clear that there is potential for improving the ways in which recyclers meet the needs of their collision repair customers. During a panel discussion, several leading collision repairers expressed interest in using more recycled parts, but felt that there were a number of barriers that would first need to be overcome. CCIF and OARA recognised the opportunity to use these comments as a basis for discussion and resolution on key issues such as availability, visibility, pricing levels and quality grading.
What is the desired outcome?
By the end of this short, focused meeting the desired outcome is: – Clarity and agreement by all participating parties on the issues to be addressed – How they will be addressed – Next Steps
