Purpose, Progress and Partnership: Key takeaways from the 2025 URG/PRP Training Conference

Orlando, Florida – The 2025 URG/PRP Training Conference in Orlando delivered a high-impact week of learning, networking and industry collaboration for auto recyclers from across North America. From April 7 to 14, the event combined hands-on facility tours, strategic board sessions, and targeted training that reinforced the industry’s focus on operational excellence and forward-thinking leadership.

The week began with meetings from Profit Team Consulting and an APS yard tour, offering attendees a firsthand look at high-efficiency practices and a chance to benchmark their own operations. As board members from URG and PRP convened midweek, the stage was set for a robust conference experience grounded in shared values and strategic vision.

The main event kicked off with Thursday’s golf tournament and networking mixer, leading into two full days of training sessions tailored to today’s top challenges. From dismantling best practices to EV battery health and safety, the agenda reflected the industry’s growing complexity and the need for continual learning. The F. Insight Certified course on EV dismantling stood out as a particularly timely highlight.

“The EV dismantling and verification of health seminar was particularly eye-opening,” said Mathieu Dagonas, executive director of the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association. “The advice delivered on the social media panel, as well as Natalie Miller’s discussions, were also a highlight for me.

“I was also thrilled to have the networking opportunity,” added Dagonas. “I extend my thanks to the URG and PRP teams for facilitating this incredible event.”

Alongside professional development came meaningful community moments—the Hall of Fame Presentation, Tunnel to Towers vehicle donation and daily prayer meetings brought heart to the agenda. Evening events like the “United in Pink” happy hour and Synergy Celebration blended fun with fundraising, underscoring the generosity and spirit of URG and PRP’s mission.

Wrapping up with final Profit Team Meetings and a relaxed evening of food and games, the conference once again proved why it remains a cornerstone for recyclers serious about growth, innovation, and industry connection.
