Toronto, Ontario – Mathieu Dagonas, the newly appointed executive director of the Ontario Association of Automotive Recyclers (OARA), recently hosted a virtual Meet and Greet via Zoom, drawing approximately 15 members from across the province.
The event provided a platform for Dagonas to connect with OARA members in an informal setting, allowing him to share his vision for the organization and discuss his plans for the future. Attendees appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with their new leader, fostering a sense of community despite geographical distances.
“I’m genuinely excited to support OARA and its members,” said Dagonas during the session, emphasizing his commitment to understanding the unique challenges faced by the automotive recycling industry and expressed a desire to enhance member engagement.
Dagonas is encouraging open dialogue, inviting members to voice their concerns and share their ideas. This feedback is crucial as he works to identify immediate priorities and opportunities for the association. Many members expressed gratitude for the chance to connect and appreciated Dagonas’s approachable and responsive demeanor.
The virtual format proved beneficial, making the event accessible to a wider audience. Dagonas’s willingness to host this session highlights his proactive approach to leadership and dedication to building strong relationships within the OARA community.
“I know I have big shoes to fill when Steve [Fletcher, outgoing OARA executive director] departs, so I am looking forward to downloading all of your knowledge to service our members,” concluded Dagonas.
Overall, the Meet and Greet marked a positive start to Dagonas’s tenure as Executive Director. It set the tone for ongoing communication and collaboration, laying a solid foundation for future initiatives aimed at advancing OARA’s goals and supporting its members.
As Dagonas settles into his role, he looks forward to further engagement with the membership and to making a significant impact within the organization.
