Canada’s Recyclers Win International Recognition

LONDON ON — December 1 2008 — Canada’s automotive recyclers have come a long way since the days of the junkyard. Notable achievements have included industry standards accreditation efforts environmental stewardship and computerized inventories. We are pleased to announce that these efforts have been acknowledged in two different ways.

The Automotive Recyclers of Canada (ARC) is an association of associations comprised of provinical associations of professional automotive recyclers. ARC represents Canada in the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) a U.S.-based international organization. At a recent meeting of ARA ARC was awarded Affiliate Chapter of the Year for the work the association and its members have done in promoting and improving the automotive recycling industry. This is an impressive achievement and it’s one that has already been acknowledged in some quarters. The Honourable Alfie MacLeod is an MLA in Nova Scotia. MacLeod has announced that he will formally put forward a resolution that all members of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly offer formal congratulations regarding ARC’s win of the Affiliate Chapter of the Year Award for showing leadership and commitment to protecting the environment.
