Canadian Direction: David Gold joins URG board

Toronto, Ontario —The United Recyclers Group, a North American organization focused on supporting the success of automotive recyclers, is appointing former Auto Recyclers Association president David Gold, owner of Standard Auto Wreckers, to its board of directors.

“Please join us in welcoming David Gold (left), Owner of Standard Auto Wreckers, to the URG Board of Directors,” said Kristi Werner, URG’s chief executive officer.
United Recyclers Group (URG) is a member-driven organization focused on innovation, collaboration, and operational success for professional auto recyclers. It facilitates access to technology, training, and peer support for independent recyclers across North America.

A longtime URG member, David Gold is the owner of Standard Auto Wreckers, operating three locations in Ontario including Canada’s first Pinnacle yard. He served as president of the ARA from 2017 to 2018.

“David brings over 35 years of experience to the board, representing three locations across Ontario including Canada’s first Pinnacle yard,” Werner added.
“His dedication to supporting the success of recyclers across North America and beyond is exactly what URG is all about,” the release continued. “We’re honored to have him on the URG board.”

The announcement also included recognition of longtime board member Patrick Garrity(right), who is stepping down after 18 years of service.

“At URG, leadership matters and for 18 years, Patrick Garrity has been a guiding voice on our board of directors. Patrick, who began serving on the Computer Features Committee in 1999 and joined the board in 2007, has shaped URG through nearly two decades of vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our members,” Werner said.
