International Event: ICBR holding 30th anniversary conference in Spain

Toronto, Ontario — The 30th annual International Congress for Battery Recycling is set to run from September 10 to 12 at the Valencia Conference Centre in Valencia, Spain.
The event aims to provide recyclers, manufacturers and material collection agencies with a global platform to discuss the battery recycling value chain. This year’s event will feature a comprehensive program curated by an international steering committee of industry experts.
Key themes will include advancements in battery manufacturing, outlooks on secondary materials, economic models for recycling various battery technologies and the impact of evolving regulations. Attendees can participate in technical sessions, panel discussions and workshops addressing critical topics such as the safe storage, transport and management of lithium batteries, as well as PFAS emissions during battery recycling.
The conference will also offer unique opportunities for hands-on experiences and networking. Delegates can engage in test drives of vehicles from brands like Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda and Cupra. Additionally, a site visit to the Sarpi Veolia Constanti, a waste-to-energy facility in Tarragona, will provide real-world insights into industrial-scale recovery processes.
