On the OARA Guest List: It’s not too late to register

Toronto, Ontario — The Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA) may be kicking off its 2022 Convention and Trade Show tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean time has run out to register for the event.

As the first OARA Convention and Trade Show in two years, this event is set to be packed with educational sessions and networking opportunities rich with information any auto recycler would find value in.

Hosted at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale in Mississauga, Ont. from Thursday through Saturday, the educational presentations will largely take place Friday, from just before 9 a.m. through 12:30 p.m., followed by a Trade Show, reception, dinner and fundraiser later in the evening.

Some Friday sessions include: Buy or Die, a comprehensive look at the ramifications of not buying and the proper way to determine the buying budget, delivered by Profit Team Consulting; CFIB look at the Ontario economy and regulatory landscape, from CFIB’s Michael Kirwin and Compliance/enforcement activities relating EASR for end-of-life vehicles, delivered by Jatin Patel, Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks.

On Saturday, OARA members will share breakfast before their Annual General Meeting before TechTalks with data vendors ensue. Recyclers will have the opportunity to hear information for Hollander, Car-Part, EZ Suite and Buddy Automotive.

Further educational sessions will begin at approximately 10:15 a.m. Saturday morning, including an e-commerce presentation from Profit Team Consulting; Re-evaluating, re-thinking and re-inventing your business, presented by Amanda Morrison of URG; QC Counts: Boost Your Core and Catalytic Converter Profitability, a presentation by Paul D’Adamo from RAS Core Supply and Sales Management Basics, another presentation from Profit Team Consulting.

Saturday will conclude with “Sales School,” hosted by Profit Team Consulting, where students will get a deep dive into the sales basics, warranties, role-playing and the keys to being a professional used parts salesman.

“It’s going to be great to see the industry back together,” said Steve Fletcher, executive director of OARA and managing director of the Automotive Recyclers of Canada. “We are always pleased when we have representatives from the insurance, repair and OEM sectors join us to complete the circle in the repair process.

“We have two fantastic days of meetings and events for the industry–it’s never too late to register to attend.”
