Manassas, Virginia — November 4 — Professional automotive recycler David Gold, Executive Vice President and President of Fenix Parts Canada, was welcomed as the new president of the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) during the organization’s 74th Annual Convention and Exposition in Dallas, Texas.
Prior to his naming as president, Gold had served as Secretary, Second Vice President and First Vice President of ARA and will now play a leading role in helping guide and shape the Association’s initiatives and direction.
“I am honored to take the reins as ARA’s next president,” said Gold, in his first remarks as ARA President. A longstanding ARA member, Gold is extremely active in the industry as a leading-edge automotive recycler.
Like most automotive recyclers, Gold learned the business from the ground up and is a third-generation automotive recycler. From 2004 to 2014, Mr. Gold served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Standard Auto Wreckers in Ontario. From 1990 to 2004, Mr. Gold served as a manager and co-owner of Standard Auto Wreckers.
Given his 25+ years of industry experience, Gold is a highly respected leader in the professional automotive recycling community in the United States and Canada. Standard Auto Wreckers has been an active member of ARA, the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association and the Automotive Recyclers of Canada for many years.
When asked about his new position, Gold said, “I grew up in this industry and have watched it grow and mature over the last two decades. I am so proud to be an automotive recycler and am truly lucky to have the opportunity to help steer it into the future as president of ARA.”
As far as his plans for the future of ARA, Gold added, “I am extremely proud to be in an industry that is so important to both the economy and the environment. I have always been progressive-minded in my own business and hope to bring that type of positive, forward thinking energy to my position with the ARA.”
